About US
The
National Association For Physician Associate Recertification
(NAFPAR) in an organization
created primarily to offer Physician Associates (PA) a
means for recertification based on continuing medical education
(CME's) and actual work performance. We
believe that once a Physician Associate completes the rigorous
initial schooling and they have passed the Physician Assistant
National Certification Exam (PANCE) that a Physician Associates true
training in the practice of medicine begins. The truth of this
statement is validated by the
reality of the fact that once a Physician Assistant completes
core training they enters the "real world" of medical
application where standardized treatments (treatments taught during
core training) gives way to regional and
environmental factors. In these "real world" settings drugs of
choice (DOC) and standard (cookie cutter) methodologies of medical
practice give way to the reality of drug-in-pharmulary (DIP) and treatments geared
to the environmental and socioeconomic needs of the individual patient.
A Time for Change:
At the NAFPAR Organization we believe that it is a time for change within the Physician Associate (PA) framework. We further believe that education and performance should be the hallmark of evaluating Physician Associates for Re-certification. We also believe that these evaluating processes should be inline with state requirements. To this end we have developed new methodologies to more accurately gauge and support the medical and medical application knowledge base of PA's. These methodologies will work in coordination with the State and indigenous established credentialing departments already in place at the facilities that Physician Associates work. We are also coordinating development of post graduate study courses that will allow Physician Associates to stay abreast of the ever evolving medical landscape. The final product will be a more effective way to educate and monitor Physician Associate’s throughout their careers while allowing their actual on the ground performance (application of medical methodologies) to be the focal point for evaluating them for recertification.
We have developed recertification processes that are in line with the recertification processes of other mid-level providers "Nurse Practitioners" who's recertification processes are currently accepted by the Federal Government as well as by every State within the United States (See Recertification Process). Once a PA initially passes the PANCE exam they can submit the necessary forms for inclusion within the NAFPAR recertification program which will track their careers yearly and grant recertification if warranted. Once recertified by the NAFPAR (after meeting the set standards) organization a PA will be allowed to wear the PA-R (recertification mark) in perpetuem as long as they continue to meet their State and the NAFPAR organizations standards.
